ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT TREK
Annapurna Round Circuit
is one of the most popular trekking
which runs through Annapurna region,
west of Nepal. This is the region's
classic long- distance trek for which
youll need an absolute 18 to 21 Days
(three weeks would be safer and more
enjoyable). The route follows two river
valleys, Marshyangdi and Kaligandaki,
crossing between them over the Thorong-La
Pass, at 5416m, the highest pass in this
trek. During the trek you will see many
Himalayan peaks ranging in height from
6000- 8167m (Dhaulagiri) and will pass
through villages of different castes-
Gurung, Brahman, Chhetri, Thakali,
Tamang- learning something of their
culture.
The popularity of the
Annapurna region is entirely
understandable; being amongst some of
the most dramatic scenery in the world
there are trekking routes to suit all
seasons and levels of fitness. The best
seasons for doing this trek are Oct/
Nov/ Dec/ Mar/ Apr/ May.

ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TREK
The principal peaks of
the western portion of the great
Annapurna Himal, including Hiunchuli,
Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna,
Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and
Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost
precisely in a circle about 10 miles in
diameter with a deep glacier-covered
amphitheater at the center. From this
glacier basin, known as the Annapurna
Sanctuary, the Modi Khola knifes its way
south in a narrow gorge fully 12,000 ft.
deep. Further south, the gorge opens up
into a wide and fertile valley, the
domain of the Gurungs. The middle and
upper portions of Modi Khola offer some
of the best short trekking routes in
Nepal, and the valley is located so that
these treks can be easily combined with
treks into the Kali Gandaki region to
the west. In spite of the great heights
of the surrounding peaks and ice walls,
the valley floor between 12,000 and
14,000 ft. can provide comfortable
camping spots in good weather.

JOMSOM/MUKTINATH TREK
North of Pokhara, Nepal's
spectacular diversity appears at its
finest The deep valleys and high
mountains encircling the giant Annapurna
Himal embrace a wide range of peoples
and terrain, from subtropical jungle to
a high, dry landscape resembling the
Tibetan Plateau. This is the most
popular trekking region, attracting over
75% of all trekkers (more than 30.000
annually). It's also among the tamest
areas, with excellent lodges lining the
main routes. Finding Nepal beneath the
flood of trekkers can be difficult, but
the scenery and culture are top-notch,
and you can avoid the peak-season crush
and still get fine weather and views. Two
main trails follow river valleys in
relatively easy ascents: up the Kali
Gandaki to Jomosom and Muktinath, and up
the Marsyangdi to Manang. By crossing a
high but straightforward pass, the
Thorung La, these trails can be joined
into the classic Annapurna Circuit. As
the land climbs, thatch-roofed
mud-walled huts are replaced by
flat-roofed stone houses, and people
change from farmers to herders, Hindus
to Buddhists. The Annapurna region
dramatically reveals the
highland/lowland cultural and geographic
frontier running across Nepal. Mountain
views are frequent and good, and if they
don't equal the heart-of-the-mountains
feeling of Khumbu, there's the Annapurna
Sanctuary, a secluded high-altitude
hollow ringed by huge peaks.

MARDI HIMALA TREK
Mardi Himal is the most
southerly peak of the Annapurna range.
It is the lowest and least climbed peak.
The photograph of the Mardi Himal, taken
in 1953 by Baisl Good fellow, first drew
the attention of western climbers. The
first ascent to the Mardi Himal in 1961.
The first route was via the East Flank
and it is the only used so far. Mardi
Himal separates the southwest ridge of
fishtail as a separate mass at right
angles to the ridge and it is best seen
from the south. The southwest face of
the mountain has three well-defined
ridges rising from the rock buttresses
and separated by hanging glaciers. Its
east face is separated from the fishtail
ridge by a col at 5200m.Mardi Himal trek
takes you through forests, beautiful
villages and valleys up to the Mardi
Himal Base Camp. The beautiful Mountain
