DHAULAGIRI BASE CAMP TREK
Dhaulagiri is a Challenging area for
Trekking. The route passes through the
worlds ninth highest mountain,
Dhaulagiri. This area offers a much
greater sense of exploration for those
who are keen to see a piece of wild
mountain country. This is also an
opportunity to experience the Tibetan
Buddhist culture throughout the
Himalayas.
We begin the trek at
Lowlands of Baglung inhabited by the
Brahmins and Chettris. Gradually as we
gain altitude we come across the Gurung
and Magar tribes. From Sal and pine
forest the trial goes to barren lands
from where we embark on mountains
experience with awesome Dhaulagiri in
front of us. We cross the French pass
and the Dhampus Pass which offers the
most awesome view of the Dhaulagiri
range, the Annapurna range, Nilgiri and
look at the deepest gorge in the world
of the Kaligandaki Gorge. We finish the
trek at Jomsom.

DHAULAGIRI PANORAM TREK
Dhaulagiri Trek starts
from the foothills of the Dhaulagiri
region that are marked with spectacular
views of both majestic Himalayan peaks
and white-water rivers. These areas are
inhabited by several ethnic minorities
such as Magars, Thakalis and Gurungs who
speak their own languages and still
adhere to local customs. Our trekking
program starts at the small village of
Baglung where we will begin our ascent
along the banks of the powerful Kali
Gandaki river. From here we travel
northwards deep into the territory of
the Magars, an amiable and unique group
of people that still have minimal
contact with the outside world. After
crossing the 3000+ meter Jhaljhala Pass,
the trail winds west into the forests of
Dhorpatan, an ancient hunting reserve of
the Rana Dynasty. Slowly we begin our
descent south into the Myagdi River
drainage on trails that offer excellent
views of the entire Annapurna range. A
natural hot spring awaits us at Tatopani,
providing a bit of relaxation near the
end of our journey.
